Benjamin Mutuku Tito
Head of Directorate
Mr. Tito holds a Master of Science degree in Agricultural Production Chains Management from Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied sciences in the Netherlands and a Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. He is a technically skilled agricultural professional with 17 years working experience both in the private and public sectors of the horticulture industry backed by versatile administrative support skills. Mr. Tito has hands-on experience with keen attention to detail aimed at promoting 3R’s of sustainability and food safety standards. He is a dynamic leader instilling a shared sense of purpose in promoting vertical and horizontal chain linkages among value chain actors. Put simply, Mr. Tito is a facilitator of change focused on achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Manager, Market Research and Product Development
Mrs. Anne Gikonyo holds a Master of Business Administration in International Business from University of Nairobi. She has over 15 years of professional experience in the Public sector in market linkage, policy formulation and trade negotiations for Netherlands, South Africa, Rwanda, Israel, Turkey and Ghana, in the horticulture sector.
She has also had over 10 years in the private sector in marketing and is a member of the Marketing Society of Kenya (MSK).Anne’s notable achievements are; setting up of the 1st international flower show in Kenya, bringing in international exhibitors and buyers into the country and giving exposure and market linkage to small holder flower producers; committee member of Kenya Defence Forces food processing factory operationalization; committee member of the National Exports Development Strategy, development of the HCDA regulations (2011) and HCD regulations (2013).
Josephine Natecho Simiyu

She has a bachelors in horticulture and an Msc. International horticulture from the University of Essex. She has served the Directorate in various capacities before joining the management team in 2013. She has over 15 years’ experience in the horticulture sector with expertise in food safety, traceability, policy and regulatory affairs.
Grace Gladys Kithusi
Manager-Technical and Advisory
Ms. Grace G. Kithusi is a horticulture specialist who holds a Master of Science degree in Horticulture from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Science degree in Horticulture from Egerton University, Kenya. She holds the position of Technical and Advisory Services Manager at the Horticultural Crops Directorate with 23 years of experience, working in the horticulture sector. She has diverse knowledge in various aspects of the sector in Kenya including technical, policy and cross cutting matters and has worked with different stakeholders including small holder and large producers, stakeholders in both public and private sectors such as regulators and policy makers, County government officials, extension providers, input suppliers, financiers as well as development partners.
